Work Schedule

The standard work schedule will be Monday - Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm, 10:00am - 7:00pm or 11:00am - 8:00pm during the Academic Year. 


7:00am - 6:00pm, 8:00am - 7:00pm or 9:00am - 8:00pm during the Summer Months


This position offers remote work allowing employees a combination of onsite and work from home options. The expected remote work schedule for this position will be based upon the needs of the department.

Funding Information

This is a grant funded assignment with a projected end date of 06-30-2025 with renewal based on available funds and the needs of MCCCD.

Job Summary

Positioned within Strategy and Advancement, this position’s main duties are to perform and engage in high-touch outreach and retention activities with current students to increase re-enrollment, persistence, and successful student goal attainment.

The role will provide high-touch and comprehensive guidance and assistance to students by nurturing effective relationships and mentoring students to assist with re-enrollment from the first semester through completion. The ideal candidate will utilize strong customer service (concierge-level service), and problem-solving/troubleshooting skills while providing students with information about continuing enrollment and other related student services.

This position will support workforce students locally and nationally.

Essential Functions

50% - Performs and engages in high-touch outreach activities (phone/text/email/chat campaigns, recruitment events) with current students to increase continuing enrollment and retention. Assists current students in overcoming enrollment barriers throughout the student life cycle.

25%—Research student information to have the most relevant conversations; document student outcomes from daily outreach efforts across various internal systems, including, but not limited to, the Student Information System and CRM.

15% - Collaborate with experts across the college to ensure students are connected to the right area for their needs. Assist with connecting students to people, processes, and procedures for resolving challenges associated with college success.

10% - Moderate a RioConnect community specifically to support student caseload and community. Performs related duties as assigned.


 

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. 
 

Desired Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree 
    B. One (1) year or more experience working in a higher education environment in a Student Affairs role such as admissions, records, academic advisement, and/or registration
    C. Two (2) years or more experience providing high volume customer service via telephone, email, text, and/or in person
    D. Two (2) year or more experience maintaining customer records within database management system or CRM (i.e. Peoplesoft, Banner, Salesforce, etc.)
    E. Experience using digital tools to service customers such as virtual chat, text, or email
    F. Experience working with a culturally diverse student population

Special Working Conditions

This position will be a hybrid of remote and on-campus work. Must have a space that includes a strong and reliable internet connection to work remotely and you will be expected to commute to the Rio Salado College Main campus two times per week after onboarding and for other in-person activities as needed. This position will require evening work hours 2 days per week and may include occasional weekends.
