The Senior clinical program specialist is an experienced clinician who will serve as an operational expert and senior resource to the team at the UC San Diego Health Eating Disorders Center for Treatment and Research under the supervision of the Program Director. Primary job responsibilities include: 1. clinical evaluation and treatment; 2. care coordination, formulation of patient treatment plans, and case management; 3. clinical supervision and training; 4. administrative duties; 5. assists with oversight of day-to-day program operations; and 6. program evaluation and program development. This party will conduct family, individual and group therapy to the most severely ill and high-risk patients with eating disorders and a range of comorbid mental health disorders (e.g., substance use disorders, major depressive disorders, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder) at partial hospital and intensive outpatient levels of care. This clinician will serve as a senior resource person for many members of the treatment team, providing training, clinical supervision and oversight to licensed and unlicensed professionals and trainees.

Advanced degree in a related area and five (5+) or more years of relevant experience, OR eleven (11) years of related experience, education/training.
Licensed in a psychiatric behavioral health discipline.
Strong skills in providing individual and group behavioral therapy, behavioral analysis and/ or educational interventions.
Thorough knowledge and experience of specialized treatments for eating disorders.
Proven experience in providing therapy to individuals at several levels of care, including residential/inpatient, day treatment, outpatient, and IOP.
Experience in developing treatment plans for eating disorder patients, and administering and interpreting psychological tests related to eating disorders.
In-depth knowledge and proven skill in the provision of individual, group, and family psychotherapy.
Knowledge and skill in problem-focused psychotherapeutic interventions and a thorough working knowledge of DSM-5 categories and differential diagnosis.
Demonstrated experience in working with insurance companies to obtain treatment authorization, etc.
Excellent and appropriate interpersonal skills including listening and interpretive skills, in dealing with patients, families, caregivers, multidisciplinary team members and community professionals.
Strong written and verbal skills.
Capacity to develop and implement specialized programs.
- DBT experience in PHP. FBT, CBT, and DBT experience with eating disorder patients.
- Clinical supervisory experience.
