This position is for Parker Hannifin's Composite Sealing Systems Division, located in San Diego (Otay Mesa), California.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Perform a variety of quality control/assurance inspections to directly support the Parker CSS manufacturing operations and WIN Strategy. Through practices of lean systems and continuous improvement, contribute to a high-performance team to ensure total customer satisfaction, quality products and services, on-time delivery, and a safe work environment while reinforcing Parker's quality and safety polices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Interfaces with customer portals to input documentation such as inspection results, FAIRs, information requests, and retrieve customer documents such as drawings or specifications.
  • Comply with Quality Management System requirements such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and Nadcap.
  • Identifies and evaluates non-conforming material and creates NCMR's. Helps with disposition of NC material.
  • Trains and certifies operators.
  • Performs customer contract reviews.
  • Creates certification packages.
  • Acts as customer release agent (DQR) for customers.
  • Schedules and entertains Source Inspectors.
  • Analyzes quality-related problems and implements corrective actions.
  • Communicates quality standards and methods, conducting training when required.
  • Supply effective responses for customer requests for cause and corrective action and follow-up to assure completion.
  • Participates in customer audits.
  • Supports and participates in continual improvement efforts such as HPTs, Kaizens and Zero Defects.
  • CMM Operation/Programming.
  • Independently addresses customer or regulatory issues, including communicating with internal and external customers & suppliers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • AS13001 Certification
  • AS9102 Certification
  • DQR Certification

Experience:

  • 10 years of experience working with customers such as Boeing, Collins, P&W, Sykorsky, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience with DQR certification.
  • 5+ years of experience working with customer portals and other portals, such as Exostar, Net Inspect, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience applying GD&T.

Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and drawings, governmental regulations, and Customer Contracts (PO's).
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interests, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to use inspection equipment, tools, and gauges.
  • Ability to operate a CMM.
  • Ability to program CMM, preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Ability to work and train from verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues.
  • Ability to adapt to changing tasks and work assignments in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area to promote efficiency and safety.
  • Ability to use computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc) to efficiently complete tasks, create documents, manage data, and communicate effectively.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers for detailed work over extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a focus on accuracy and efficiency for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to wear required PPE throughout the entirety of the shift.

SALARY INFORMATION:

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $23.25 to $35.50 per hour.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a US citizen, lawful permanent resident ["green card" holders] or have refugee or asylee status).
