Business Intelligence Developer

Job Summary

The Business Intelligence Developer will design, develop, and maintain scalable BI solutions to support business decision-making. This role will collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, create data models, and deliver actionable insights through dashboards, reports, and visualizations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in BI tools, SQL, and data engineering workflows, coupled with excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive learning mindset.

Education/Certificates

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in Business Intelligence (BI) development and data analytics, including designing dashboards, creating data models, and building reports.

  • Proven expertise in developing interactive dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI or Tableau, including advanced use of DAX and Power Query for Power BI.

  • Strong SQL skills with experience querying large datasets and working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

  • Foundational understanding of data engineering workflows, including ETL processes and modern data pipelines.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and services (e.g., Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) is an advantage.

  • Ability to translate complex data and technical concepts into user-friendly reports and visualizations.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • A proactive mindset and eagerness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.

  • Experience with advanced BI technologies and frameworks is a plus.

  • Exposure to big data tools and techniques is a plus.

Essential Duties

  • Develop and maintain scalable BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data visualizations, that provide actionable insights to support business decision-making.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, understand business challenges, and translate them into effective technical solutions.

  • Monitor, validate, and ensure data quality and integrity across various data sources and reporting outputs.

  • Conduct minor data engineering tasks, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL), to prepare data for analysis and reporting.

  • Optimize and troubleshoot BI solutions to improve performance, accuracy, and user experience.

  • Continuously refine and enhance existing BI solutions based on user feedback and evolving business needs.

  • Actively explore and implement emerging BI technologies and best practices to improve analytical capabilities and align with organizational goals

  • Completes company required training by established deadline.

  • Complies with all Fairfield standards, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state and federal laws.

  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned.

Estimated Rate of Pay:

$90,000.00 - $110,000.00

This position is exempt; the range above reflects annual salary.

The pay range displayed for this position is determined by skills and experience required, location and job complexity*. Potential job offers may vary based on the skills, education, and experience an individual candidate holds. This range reflects base rate only, and does not include allowances, perks, commissions or bonuses applicable to this position (if any). In addition to base salary, Fairfield offers all full time associates the following, upon meeting eligibility requirements:

* Pay range is a calculation based on a midpoint price. Fairfield complies with all wage and hour laws, including minimum wage and salary exempt requirements.
