Job Summary
The Department of Behavioral Sciences at the University of Michigan-Dearborn invites applications for one Student Assistant to support PSYC 101 during the Winter 2025 term. This position will require no more than 75 hours for the term.
The Assistant will assist the professor in managing students as they engage in course-related activities, complete assignments, and prepare for exams. Responsibilities include providing timely feedback on assignments, monitoring and moderating discussion boards by tracking participation and fostering active engagement, and helping students troubleshoot technical issues. Additionally, the Teaching Assistant will participate in class discussions on course topics, theories, and concepts, assisting students in understanding and applying course content.
Other duties include encouraging active student participation, fostering a sense of community in the online learning environment, clarifying course expectations, and guiding students on assignments and deadlines. The Teaching Assistant will help deliver detailed feedback on the discussion boards and assist with grading as needed. This position also requires regular meetings with the professor.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to an engaging and supportive learning environment for undergraduate psychology students.
