Essential Job Duties

This position will assist in the administration of the Graduate School’s Slate instance, as well as contribute to the oversight of the graduate degree audit system. The role requires cross-functional and high-level oversight of enhancements to existing and new functionalities of Slate and the degree audit system. The CRM Analyst must be able to think critically and innovatively to
increase efficiencies and provide a more integrated experience for applicants, students, faculty and staff to achieve admissions and enrollment goals. A successful candidate will be growth-minded, data-oriented and able to work with individuals with varying technological knowledge. The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include, but may not be limited to:

Slate CRM
  • Act as the primary liaison for Slate with all graduate stakeholders across campus and serve as co-lead for expanding the functionality and capabilities of the CRM.
  • Work with graduate programs (100+ on campus) to create inquiry forms within Slate and set up marketing and communication campaigns.
  • Maintain Slate forms and emails (updating each semester, ensuring they are going to correct populations, etc.).
  • Create reports to track the prospect-applicant timeline funnel.
  • Provide support for end users, troubleshooting technical issues and exercising creative and critical thinking in evaluating complex situations and developing solutions.
  • Consult with and provide training to departments, create and organize documentation to be used as training materials, assist with creation and testing of new enhancements, etc.
  • Continually work to improve Slate functionality, exploring new modules and their functionality. Assist with system updates, maintenance and testing, including quality control reporting and data integrity analysis.
  • Maintain the training website for Slate and provide in-person and online training sessions.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Graduate Degree Audit
  • Maintain the graduate Degree Audit and Degree Planner systems and provide ongoing SIS campus training.
  • Design and code complex sets of degree requirements for all graduate majors, minors and certificate programs.
  • Proactively provide creative solutions for the degree audit program and serve as a contact with stakeholders on technical and process upgrades.

Other Responsibilities

  • Engage in online (Slate webinars and Deeper Dives) and in-person (Slate Summit) training with follow-up presentations and reports to all relevant colleagues.
  • Serve as backup for the ETD Editor.
  • Assist with admission related questions.
  • Assist with covering the Graduate School front desk – answer the phone, assist walk-ins, etc.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Strong commitment to teamwork and student-centered customer service.
  • Must demonstrate basic computer software skills in Microsoft Excel and Word as
    well as web-based software applications and email.
  • Ability to interpret information supplied by students and provide professional, judgment-based feedback and counsel within broadly prescribed policy guidelines and without excessive supervision.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Slate and Peoplesoft.
  • Familiarity with HTML, SQL, and/or Liquid Markup.
  • Knowledge of NC State University policies and graduate student policies.
  • Proven organization and record keeping skills.
