Primary Purpose:
Analyzes complex business problems and issues of diverse scope using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. May provide consultation to users and lead cross-functional teams to address business issues. Partners with clients to understand needs and utilizes analytical tools and techniques to develop creative approaches to client issues. Communicates data conclusions and recommendations based on data analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs complex analysis in support of client's business needs. Analyzes data and evaluates results to choose best solution and solve problems. Determines recommendations to be taken based on the applicable information.
- Primary point of contact for a wide range for clients regarding key business issues as they relate to analytics. Manages client relationship, expectations, and timeline.
- Understands data needs and develops report specifications to extract data from systems. Plans and selects best data elements needed for reports. Compiles data from multiple sources and transforms it into usable format.
- Presents data through written reports, metrics, and data visualization.
- Maintains and expands current knowledge of technical developments in data analytics field.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Hybrid Schedule:
- Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow the employee to work onsite three days per week and remotely on the remaining workdays.
- Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics or equivalent training and/or experience.
- 5 years of professional analytic experience.
- Ability to interpret data for trends, understand the business enough to draw conclusions and raise topics for discussion.
- Utilizes data manipulation techniques while extracting, querying, and transforming data.
- Ability to write and present clear and efficient insights developed through analysis.
- Strong relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize competing responsibilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solves problems by evaluating options to choose best solution.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of reporting capabilities of SAP, ERPs, CRMs, and/or other databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Power BI is highly desirable.
